Development of Education Projects Across Africa
Delivering top level vocational training as in Switzerland, but in the countries where the students are, and at a fraction of the costs applicable abroad – this is our “education offshoring” approach, which guides our education activities.
Hospitality education:
In the hospitality sector, we are the exclusive business development partner for Africa of one of the top Swiss hospitality schools, the Business & Hotel Management School (www.bhms.ch), based in Lucerne/Switzerland. We have helped to facilitate introductions to local partners in:
- Nairobi, Kenya where a first school was opened in 2015 (www.bihc.ac.ke)
- Egypt where B.H.M.S now develops joint hospitality programs with Cairo for Investment and Real Estate Development (CIRA), the owner of Badr University in Cairo (www.buc.edu.eg)
- Namibia where we facilitated an introduction to a major hotel operator in the country, the United Africa Group, which is now developing the Windhoek Hospitality & Culinary College (http://whcc.com.na) in partnership with B.H.M.S.
Early 2021, rainbow unlimited gmbh also won a tender issued by the Swiss State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) for “Vocational Education and Training in the Hospitality Sector in Africa” over 4 years. The project requires the organisation of VET courses in the sector, including a classroom instruction portion at a vocational school in Africa and a workplace training portion at a host company in Africa.
